We needed to use a dense cell-cast acrylic material for this tremendous structure. We chose ACRYLITE GP acrylic sheet for its light weight, high-impact strength, excellent optical clarity, and its ability to withstand expansion and contraction due to the refrigerated sections of the wine tower.

The particular color and matte finish of the sheet blended well with Nikon’s specifications and had the ‘cool’ look that they wanted. After seeing the Blue Pastel Ice for their eyeglass lens displays, Nikon didn’t want to look at anything else. The ACRYLITE GP Pastel Ice acrylic pieces machined so well, we didn’t have to do any additional edge work. The two ‘C’s’ were counter-bored together. If the counter-bore holes were chipped or gummy due to routing or machining, you would have been able to see imperfections in the finished product. With the CYRO material, we didn’t experience that problem

For clarity, acrylic is the best material, but when you have to introduce break resistance you usually have to use PETG. ACRYLITE PLUS sheet has reduced our costs by 15 to 20%, depending on the application. The main reasons for this are faster fabrication and reduced labor. We have been able to increase our machine rates with ACRYLITE PLUS. With only one pass of the torch on the ACRYLITE PLUS sheet, we have been able to quickly put on a nice finish. We find flame polishing steps run much more smoothly than with PETG, which needs a special temperature and results in adjustments, more time and eventually higher costs.

The bulk of what we specify is ACRYLITE AR. We also recommend other CYRO acrylics depending on the application. ACRYLITE sheet cuts beautifully - nice, clean, sharp edges, straight square cuts. CYRO's masking peels off more easily than competitive products, and every little bit of time saved with fabrication helps.

ACRYLITE AR sheet is the best material for interior signs, and its best feature is scratch resistance. AR sheet gets put through a lot during fabrication, and it survives. If I need to manufacture six signs, all I need is six ACRYLITE AR sheets. I don’t need to purchase extra for replacement, like I do with other materials. It improves my yields by 25 to 33 percent.

High quality custom runs in custom colors is something CYRO does well. Custom colors save money for our customers. We are able to supply our customer with not only the exact color they want, but the exact quantity, too. Other plastics suppliers want a minimum order of, say 100 sheets of a custom color. We can order as few as 10 sheets from CYRO. Why pay 10 times more for material that will end up as scrap?
